This is a knitting pattern for a fitted pullover designed to fit the broad body type fashionista Ken dolls and other dolls with similar proportions. The broad body type fashionista Ken doll has a 6.75” chest, 6” waist, and 2.5” bicep, and the pullover is designed to stretch across the chest and shoulders with a bit of negative ease to show off his shape.
The sweater also fits smaller Ken bodies, but it will be a little bit too big in the arms, and a lot too big in the belly. I will release a pattern update with extended sizes eventually, but for now the larger bodies are my primary focus.
This is a straightforward classic raglan pullover, styled after vintage wool work sock or “sock monkey” sweaters. Any light fingering yarn will work for this pattern. The sweaters in the pattern photos were knit using Loops & Threads brand “Woolike” yarn in Beige, Cool Gray, and Rose.
The pullover opens at the back of the neck for easy dressing. The overlapping back seam will keep the back of the sweater looking neat for photographs. The pattern calls for 1 or 2 snap fasteners, velcro, or your choice of closure.
