Rolled Hem Pullover for Ken

Ken #8 wearing a beige knit rolled hem pullover
Ken #8 (Broad Body)

Pattern Details

This pattern will show you how to knit a rolled hem pullover for Ken dolls and other fashion dolls with similar bodies. The one-size pattern was designed to fit the broad body type fashionista Ken dolls, and it also fits well on the smaller original bodies and Disney Store princes.

The broad body type fashionista Ken doll has a 6.75” chest, 6” waist, and 2.5” bicep, and the pullover is designed to stretch across the chest and shoulders with a tiny bit of negative ease to show off his shape. It will fit a bit more loosely on the other types of Ken dolls, as shown in the photos.

The sweater opens at the back of the neck for easy dressing over the head, and it closes in the back using snaps or velcro.

This pattern is made up of mostly knit stitches, and there are no more purl stitches after row 5. You will need to know how to knit, purl, knit 2 stitches together (k2tog), and knit in the round. This is a great project for using up leftover yarns and scraps.

Classic Work Sock Pullover for Ken

Knitted grey doll sweater with cream and rose trim.
Fashionista Ken – Broad

Pattern Details

This is a knitting pattern for a fitted pullover designed to fit the broad body type fashionista Ken dolls and other dolls with similar proportions. The broad body type fashionista Ken doll has a 6.75” chest, 6” waist, and 2.5” bicep, and the pullover is designed to stretch across the chest and shoulders with a bit of negative ease to show off his shape.

The sweater also fits smaller Ken bodies, but it will be a little bit too big in the arms, and a lot too big in the belly. I will release a pattern update with extended sizes eventually, but for now the larger bodies are my primary focus.

This is a straightforward classic raglan pullover, styled after vintage wool work sock sweaters. Any light fingering yarn will work for this pattern. The sweaters in the pattern photos were knit using Loops & Threads brand “Woolike” yarn in Beige, Cool Gray, and Rose.

The pullover opens at the back of the neck for easy dressing. The overlapping back seam will keep the back of the sweater looking neat for photographs. The pattern calls for 1 or 2 snap fasteners, velcro, or your choice of closure.
